Social Return On Investment (SROI) is a new approach to measuring for the sector of development cooperation. The approach of Social Return on Investment has been elaborated upon in ‘The applicability of SROI to development cooperation’. With the objectives to explore the appropriateness of this approach for development organisations and the target communities and to test and improve the methodology, a total number of nine pilot projects has been conducted in 2008 and 2009.
